Benny Kauff had two hits and drove in two runs in leading Lafayette to an 8-6 win over Syracuse, sending the NLCS to a deciding seventh game. George Davis had two hits, including a homerun, and two RBIs for the Amzin' Mets.

Phil Cockrell pitched 5-hit ball for seven innings, walking one and striking out six, as the New Canaan Brown Bombers win the OTL American League Championship with a 6-4 win over Framingham. Don Hurst had a 2-run homerun for the Bombers. Nomar Garciapara had three hits, including two homeruns and two RBIs, for the Rag Rats.

Ross Barnes hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 7th to give Syracuse a 5-4 lead, and the Amazin' Mets held on to take a 3-2 lead in their NLCS. Don Mattingly had a 2nd inning homerun for the Mets. Kiki Cuyler had two hits and two RBIs for Lafayette.

HR: NEW-Bruce Petway, FRA-Rico Carty
New Canaan scored two runs in the top of the 13th inning to best Framingham, and take a 3-2 lead in their ALCS. Coolpapa Bell and Jackie Robinson each had three and two RBIs, and Bruce Petway homered to lead the Brown Bombers. Rico Carty had three hits including a grandslam homerun for the Rug Rats.

George Mogridge pitched a 3-hitter for six innings, and New Canaan evened the ALDS with a 4-1 win over Framingham. Ray Dandridge had three hits, and Baby Doll Jacobson drove in a pair of runs for the Brown Bombers. Gabby Hartnett went deep for the Rug Rats.
