Jimmie Foxx put the lid on a 6-run 8th inning with a 3-run homerun, and Oroville downed Lafayette 8-4. George Wright had three hits, and Harry Walker drove in two runs for the Padres, who will meet Syracuse in the NLCS.

Harmon Killebrew and Jimmie Foxx hit homeruns, and George Stone drove in three runs in leading Oroville to an 8-3 win over Lafayette. King Kelly and Buddy Myer went deep for the Shoe Salesmen. Oroville leads the series 2-1.

Glen Wilton scored five runs in the first inning, hi-lited by Ron Fairly's grand slam homerun, and the Evil Do'ers went on to down New Canaan 6-3, and sweep their Division Series. Eddie Murray and Babydoll Jacobson each had three hits for the Brown Bombers. Glen Wilton will meet Wilmington in the ALCS.
CABRINI
Syracuse 14, Cabrini 2
W: White 1-0 L: Weyhing 0-1

Syracuse banged out 19 hits, including homeruns by Stan Musial and Rafael Palmeiro, Sy Sutcliffe had four hits, and the Amazin' Mets sweep their Division Series with a 14-2 victory over Cabrini. Ted Kluszewski homered for the Green Acres.
NEWARK
Wilmington 7, Newark 1
W: Pfiester 1-0 L: McGinnis
SV: None
Gabby Hartnett hit a pinch-hit grand slam homerun, George Brett had three hits, and Wilmington sweeps their Division Series with a 7-1 win over Newark. Happy Felsh had three hits for the Bears. The Powerhouse will meet Glen Wilton in the ALCS.


OROVILLE
Lafayette 10, Oroville 4
W: Ford 1-0 L: Bagby 0-1

Carl Furillo and Brady Anderson hit homeruns, and Lafayette dumped Oroville 10-4. Furillo, Anderson and Paul O'Neill each drove in three runs for the Shoe Salesmen. Roy Cullenbine homered for the Pads.

Lefty Grove had two hits, drove in a run, and pitched seven innings of 6-hit ball to lead Glen Wilton to a 4-2 win over New Canaan. Jackie Robinson and Eddie Murray each drove in a run for the Brown Bombers.

Stan "The Man" Musial hit a 2-out 3-run homerun in the top of the 8th, giving Syracuse a 7-5 win over Cabrini. Jesse Burkett and Earl Averill had three hits apiece for the Green Acres.
WILMINGTON

With two out and a runner at third, Jimmy Ryan's 5th hit of the game was a single to left scoring Hal Chase, and Wilmington edged by Newark 5-4. Ryan also drove in three runs for the Powerhouse. Frank Chance had three hits for the Bears.


OROVILLE

Pinch-hitters Ferris Fain and Harmon Killebrew each drove in a run in Oroville's 2-run 7th inning, and the Padres held on to edge Lafayette 3-2. "Smokey Joe" Williams pitched six innings of 2-hit ball for the Shoe Salesmen.

Glen Wilton scored four runs in the 6th, four more in the 7th, and the Evil Doe'ers went on to down New Canaan 8-6. Turkey Stearns hit a 3-run homer, and Andre Thornton had three hits for the Do'ers. Babydoll Jacobson, Chief Zimmer and Jackie Robinson each had three hits for the Brown Bombers.
